We started Calico Fields as a lavender farm in 2008. We quickly realized that the lavender attracted all kinds of pollinators. It was fascinating to see all of the native bees, honeybees, wasps, bumblebees, butterflies, ladybugs and preying mantis enjoying the blooms. As people visited the farm, they were also interested in seeing and learning more about the pollinators. We hosted many school groups, garden clubs and other groups through the years to learn more about lavender and pollinators. When the lavender farm closed in 2022, we decided to continue and expand on this education experience through our non-profit..... Calico Fields Environmental Education.
